They forecast called for rain in the morning, so we decided to only rent canoes for the second half of the day. The boys went exploring with their bikes for the first half. It only sprinkled.
We started out the day with a little flood in the bathroom, followed by more flooding in the other bathroom. Yeah, this unit has issues.
They went to the first alligator spot again. She was still there watching over her babies. The boys named her Sophie.
Farmer John Fishing:
This group was hilarious. The first kayak passed right by without seeing Sophie. We pointed it out to the second kayak, and then they told the last kayak. One of the guys in the last one said, “What? There are alligators here?” I guess he didn’t get the same memo.
We saw very few alligators in the water this time. I think it was still a little chilly. They mostly were sitting along the banks basking in the sun.
We headed towards Billy’s Island.
I think the alligators were more afraid of us this time than we were of them.
The boys playing at Billy’s Island. This was the only place where we encountered mosquitoes outside of our cottage.
