We packed up the car, checked out of the cottage and went for a longer canoe trip to Minnie’s Lake this day. It was a little chilly, but overall we managed. I did not pack the correct clothes for us! There were definitely more people this day since it was a Saturday.

We headed toward Minnie’s Lake. It’s a longer paddle, but we made it in good time. The wind was not as strong as the day before.

Alligator sightings were mainly on logs this year (thank goodness!!!). I’ll admit that it freaks me out a little (a lot) when alligators are in the water swimming around us. One wrong move and we are lunch meat.



This guy was a monster! You can’t really tell how big he is from the picture, but I wouldn’t want to make him mad.

We made it to Minnie’s Lake for our picnic lunch.


On the way back, we stopped to snack. This little guy swam right up to our boat.

We didn’t feed him, so he continued on.

This was a great sign!
