Playa del Carmen, Mexico 2015

We always look forward to this trip. As you probably know from following our blog all these years that we go to the same resort every year. It starts out the same. I tell myself that I will look for a different destination, different hotel etc. I end up choosing the same place. There are several things going for it. First of all, it is significantly less expensive than other destinations. It’s an all inclusive with a kids’ club, and aqua park. Of course, there is the beach too. I even wait to pack since I already know what we’re bringing and which luggage to bring etc. We usually fly AirTran. We’ve flown Delta once and everything took longer, customs took longer and getting a taxi took longer. There were just a lot more people in that terminal. Recently, AirTran merged with Southwest and it did not show up when we booked our trip. So, Delta was the next best thing.

As predicted, everything took a very very long time. We finally got to the hotel and as we were checking in, Wolfgang asked if there was anything different this year. The hotel staff told us that the aqua park is closed for construction. WHAAAAAATTTT!!!!!????? We are here for the kids’ club, aqua park and beach. He then explained that the small pool was now the kids’ area and they have one inflatable slide with lots of kids activities. This is not looking good.

We go to our room, unpack a little, walk around and go to dinner. The food is always good. There is something for everyone and we never get sick. That alone makes me want to go back. No one wants to be sick on vacation. Wolfgang was determined to take more photos than I on this trip. I think he won. I didn’t take nearly as many photos this year.

The next day, after a little walk to look for animals, we go to breakfast. The boys then go to the kids’ club and we relax on the beach. Niiiiiiiiiice.

We pick them up for lunch, go back to the room for a little break where they work on their summer workbooks and read a little.

Then it’s pool time!

They had one inflatable slide. The boys loved it anyway. Plus, they had adult beverages there!

This was new. Christopher loved being in here. Alex tried it once and didn’t care for it. Chris played in it over and over again. He got really good and could run like a hamster in that ball.
