Summer is also birthday season. Our last birthday celebration was Wolfgang’s. He wanted to go to Kentucky to tour the Mammoth Caves, the longest network of caves in the world. Not all areas of this network has been explored.

On the way up, the birthday boy wanted to stop at Corky’s in Nashville. Um, not yum. We will skip this one from now on. It was a bust.

Mammoth Caves:

We checked the weather forecast and it said 10% chance of rain. So, we rented a canoe and half-way through the paddle, it started lightning and pouring. People got up on islands in the river and huddled under their canoes and others flipped their canoes in the river because they couldn’t see where they were paddling and hit a tree trunk, while you huddled along the banks under trees… Yeah. That happened this day too.
