Ellicott Rock Trail

At the end of August, I started German Classes at one of the local universities. I thought it would be useful to pick up more vocabulary and learn some basic syntax. It turned out to be a great beginner’s course and my professor was really nice. She really cared about her students. Christopher was sick one day and I had to take him with me to turn in a paper. He drew her a picture and she put it up in her office. The class still required a lot of work, and I hope I can retain most of what I’ve learned.

The first weekend after I started classes, we went on the Ellicott Rock trail to let the boys play in the water a bit before it turned cold. Georgia and North Carolina had a land dispute about their border. Ellicott was commissioned to survey and settle the dispute. There is a marker on a rock where he put his initials. It’s a little difficult to get to this marking and this time we didn’t walk all the way there, but we have in the past.

The water was a little chilly and the rocks were slippery from algae growth.
