I’ve been talking about taking the boys bowling forever. Honestly, I’ve only been about three times in my whole life, but thought it would be a fun indoor thing for the boys to do. It’s been so hot here that all we do is stay indoors or at the pool in the evenings.
As some of you know, we (I) let our nanny go a few weeks ago. After much thought and deliberation about it, we’ve decided to not hire another one. The boys are older now and understand more. I found a program where they can go on the days that I work. If I work more days occasionally, they can accommodate us with advance notice. It’s working out pretty well so far. We’ll see how this pans out. Honestly, I’m really enjoying having no outsiders in our house. Think about this: You spend time interviewing people and doing background checks on people who will be in your house with your children while you are at work. Then one day, they bring their family and friends, who have lots of issues (sometimes illegal issues) into your house while you are at work without asking. Really? How do you feel about that? That’s all I’m saying about this. No one loves your kids more than you do and no one takes care of them like you do. However, we still love our girls who babysit!!!
Ok. Sorry for the sidetrack. I had to get it out there. Back to bowling. Our neighbors and friends came with us and I think everyone had a blast (even the moms!). The bowling place had a summer promotion of kids bowl free all summer long (2 games per day). You just have to rent the shoes. They pulled up the bumpers and brought out these metal ramps so the little ones can get momentum for their balls to get to the pins. They had fun bowling, but I think their favorite was watching the bowling ball come back in the return.
