Oh where do I start to describe this trip? It was, simply put, fantastico! If you recall, I broke my foot last year in September and then 6 days later we went to this resort. It was ok, not fun. This year, it was so different. I could walk, I could go to the beach, I could do normal things. We were already familiar with the layout and procedures there. As soon as we walked off the plane, we saw a familiar face. It was the man who pushed my wheelchair around the airport last year. He is still there doing the same job. Familiarity is nice. We get a cab, ride 40 minutes to the resort, checked in quickly and immediately started our vacation. The boys loved the kids club and aqua park. They asked every day to go to the kids club, which has an indoor playground, trampoline, movie theater, games, etc. We could drop them off and pick them up later. They never wanted to leave. In the afternoons after naps, we went to the aqua park, where they played with more friends with water slides. When they were in the kids club, Wolfgang would be at the beach with me or out scuba diving. In the evening, they had different shows. Tophie really enjoyed the Michael Jackson impersonator and couldn’t stop singing “Thriller”. The picked up some more Spanish phrases and could count to ten this year. My favorite was Tophie telling everyone hasta new lego instead of hasta luego. They made friends and loved playing with their friends all week. We loved that they didn’t need us to entertain them all week. They keep on asking if they can fly there again.
This was Wolfgang’s protection against the turbulence (air conditioning) in our room. Don’t you like his make-shift cap? Now, who would like to guess if this was a new or used pull-up? Only I will know…
Now this is enthusiasm for a hot dog!
