It’s always nice to go back home. We drove around town and I showed the boys where I grew up, my hometown. I showed them my schools, my favorite places to eat (Southern Maid Donuts anyone?). We even visited with a couple of my former chemistry professors. I’m always amazed at how much this city has grown in the past decade. Cotton fields are now SAMs Club and Starbucks. It is a nice place to live. You can have a house on the lake and still make decent time in to work. The boys enjoyed the children’s museum with my cousins. These cousins, wow, that is another topic. I always remembered them being little, their cute round cheeks, playing and running all over the place. Now they are these tall, polite, and mature young men. I hardly recognize them anymore. When did this happen? They used to be “the boys”. Now Alex and Chris are “the boys”. This just means that I am getting old.
The boys loved grandma’s swing. Alex even requested a picture with Tophie on it.
Our friend, Mr. Frog, who we saw every day.
My friend, Chris (Chrissy) who I’ve known since middle school.
Learning to fish:
Jacob told them that their grandpa taught him how to fish and now he wants to teach them. How sweet.
