Cataloochee February 2014

This was such an awesome weekend. We need to do it again soon! It started out questionably. The weather looked like it would not cooperate, but as we all know, the weather is hardly ever that predictable. It turned out to be a great weekend for skiing. Saturday, was pretty packed, but by Sunday, it thinned out quite a bit. On Sunday, we were able to ski off the slopes and right onto the lifts. The boys also had more one-on-one attention from their instructors since there were only 5 kids in the class.

Alex had a hard time on Saturday. I think the instructor was a little harsh on him. Alex cried and didn’t want to go back Sunday. But after being on the bunny hill for only a few minutes, I heard him yell with hands in the air,”Oooh me! Me! I want to go next!!!” All was good again. He was having a good time every time I looked over. The two girls on Sunday were fabulous. We have always loved all the instructors. This guy on Saturday was not good at working with little kids. He’s much better with the older kids.

By the end of Sunday, Christopher was skiing down the green slope that I skied down, and all by himself. He was pretty proud of himself and he had the need for speed. He just zoomed down, slowed down at the bottom, stopped and then skied into the lift area. Nice. I can’t wait to see what they can do next season.
